Visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll

What will you discover?

One of the most beautiful and evocative monuments in Catalonia. The Monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll was founded by Count Guifré el Pelós in the year 879. Highlights include the large 12th century portal, the double-storey cloister, the countal tombs and the necropolis, among others.

To understand the history of the Monastery, it is essential to first visit the Interpretation Centre, located in the chapel of the Congregation, which gives us the keys to understanding its historical significance.

Your ticket grants you entry to

The Interpretation Centre, the historical part of Ripoll Monastery and the life of the monk scribes

The Gateway, a unique work from the 12th century.

The basilica, where you will find the tombs of the counts
